The Franz Schubert Filharmonia<\/strong> offered a concert of great musical depth<\/strong> at the Palau de la M\u00fasica, with the inspired direction and interpretation<\/strong> from the position of first violin by Vlad Stanculeasa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We began the concert with Mendelssohn’s Octet for strings op. 20<\/em>, a brilliant work composed when he was only 16 years old<\/strong>, which the composer himself insisted should be performed with an orchestral, rather than a chamber, sound. The orchestra highlighted this premise thanks to the virtuoso sound of the double bass<\/strong>, which reinforced the low registers and added symphonic depth. The first movement, full of youthful energy<\/strong>, shone for its precision, while the scherzo captivated with its lightness and agility<\/strong>. The final Presto<\/em> closed the work with an explosion of virtuoso energy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the second part, the Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for strings op. 48<\/em> stood out for its balance between elegance and emotion<\/strong>. The solemn Pezzo in forma di sonatina<\/em> that opens the score offered a noble and organic dialogue between the sections<\/strong>. The Waltz<\/em> flowed with delicacy and charm<\/strong>, while the \u00c9l\u00e9gie<\/em> moved us with exquisite control of tempo and balance of colors<\/strong>. The apotheosic Tema Russo<\/em> brought the finale to a lively and sophisticated conclusion.<\/p>\n

Finally, the musicians of the Franz Schubert Filharmonia gave a wonderful Sibelius encore that stopped time.<\/p>\n
