On the centenary of the opera\u2019s premiere at La Scala in Milan, the Franz Schubert Filharmonia wished to join the celebration with its own production, becoming <strong data-start=\"2229\" data-end=\"2305\">the only symphony orchestra in the world to commemorate this anniversary<\/strong> on such a scale.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2324\" data-end=\"2591\">Maestro Tom\u00e0s Grau delivered a clear and narrative reading of Puccini\u2019s score, with special attention to the balance between sections, choirs, and soloists, as well as a <strong data-start=\"2494\" data-end=\"2539\">refined treatment of textures and colours<\/strong>, which the orchestra sustained with great solidity.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2593\" data-end=\"3204\">Leading the cast, Lianna Haroutounian created a powerful and nuanced <em data-start=\"2662\" data-end=\"2672\">Turandot<\/em>, capable of combining strength and sensitivity. Xavier Moreno gave a compelling performance as <em data-start=\"2768\" data-end=\"2775\">Calaf<\/em>, culminating in a highly accomplished <em data-start=\"2814\" data-end=\"2828\">Nessun dorma<\/em>. Carolina L\u00f3pez Moreno brought to life a delicate and expressive <em data-start=\"2894\" data-end=\"2899\">Li\u00f9<\/em>, while David Cervera conveyed both humanity and fragility as <em data-start=\"2961\" data-end=\"2968\">Timur<\/em>. The ministers \u2014Carles Pachon (Ping), Andr\u00e9s Moreno (Pang), and Marc Sala (Pong)\u2014 stood out for their <strong data-start=\"3071\" data-end=\"3096\">chemistry and balance<\/strong>, while the distinguished presence of the great Ra\u00fal Gim\u00e9nez as <em data-start=\"3160\" data-end=\"3168\">Altoum<\/em> completed a truly outstanding cast.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3206\" data-end=\"3341\">The Orfe\u00f3 Catal\u00e0 and the Cor Infantil de l\u2019Orfe\u00f3 Catal\u00e0 rounded off the musical impact with solid and deeply moving vocal performances.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3343\" data-end=\"3529\">Jordi Gast\u00f3\u2019s staging, intelligent and elegant, adapted naturally to the unique space of the Palau, in a <strong data-start=\"3448\" data-end=\"3528\">production focused on the essential human conflict at the heart of the drama<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3531\" data-end=\"3662\">Bringing <em data-start=\"3540\" data-end=\"3550\">Turandot<\/em> to the Palau before nearly 4,000 people has been <strong data-start=\"3600\" data-end=\"3661\">a shared challenge that will forever remain in our hearts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3664\" data-end=\"3758\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">On behalf of the Franz Schubert Filharmonia, thank you for being there and making it possible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The performances of Turandot at the Palau de la M\u00fasica became one of those milestones that are only possible when ambition, commitment, and a deep connection with the audience come together.
