The Franz Schubert Filharmonia<\/strong> experienced a night of great musical intensity yesterday under the direction of Robert Trevino<\/span><\/span><\/strong> and with the exceptional presence of violinist Midori<\/span><\/span><\/strong>. The programme, culminating in Tchaikovsky\u2019s Fifth Symphony<\/strong>, revealed a Trevino<\/strong> of immense expressive power, capable of combining dramatic tension, sonic refinement, and an utterly organic orchestral architecture.<\/p>\n

In the first half, Midori delivered a captivating interpretation of Mendelssohn\u2019s Violin Concerto<\/strong>. With an elegant, luminous, and deeply expressive sound, the violinist displayed phrasing of extraordinary naturalness, particularly moving in the Andante<\/strong> and brilliant in a Finale<\/strong> full of agility and precision. The understanding between soloist and orchestra remained constant throughout, in a reading marked by sensitivity and musical balance.<\/p>\n

In the second half, Trevino led Tchaikovsky\u2019s Fifth Symphony<\/strong> with vibrant energy and remarkable structural clarity. The American conductor avoided any rhetorical excess, shaping an interpretation that was intense, moving, and profoundly coherent. The great symphonic climaxes emerged with power and breadth of sound, supported by a Franz Schubert Filharmonia that displayed a warm and compact sonority.<\/p>\n

For the Franz Schubert Filharmonia, it was a great joy to share the stage once again with Midori, as well as a deeply enriching experience to work alongside the great maestro Robert Trevino. A memorable evening that concluded with the entire Palau standing ovation.<\/strong><\/p>\n
