Vivaldi’s four seasons<\/em> are not only among the most popular pieces of classical music, but also circulated widely in the composer’s era and inspired other composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach himself.<\/p>\n

The four seasons<\/em> were especially popular in France, where they were played many times. The spring<\/em>, it was the favorite of the French – Michel Corette made a choral motet and Jean-Jacques Rousseau a transcription for solo flute (video<\/a>) -.<\/p>\n

With the death of Vivaldi, The Four Seasons<\/em>, and all the work of the Venetian composer, were completely forgotten for more than a century before being “rediscovered” in the first part of the twentieth century. Vivaldi’s renaissance from that time onwards was of interest to Bach, who had studied and transcribed some of his harpsichord concertos.<\/p>\n

The first full-length recording of The Four Seasons<\/em> dates back to 1942, but it was only after World War II that they gained widespread popularity around the world today.<\/p>\n
