Impossible love: The Piano Concerto no. 2 by Chopin<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a letter to a friend, Chopin confessed that the Larghetto in the concerto was inspired by Constanza Gladkowska, a young singer at the Warsaw Conservatory: “Perhaps, unfortunately for me, I have reached my ideal and have been serving it faithfully for six months, without telling him about my feelings. I dream it: under his inspiration, the adagio of my Concerto in F minor was born… On the piano I explain what I am now confessing to you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for the shy composer, this music is all that came out of his crush. For many, this Larghetto is one of his most precious creations, comparing it to the nocturnes he would compose years later.<\/p>\n

Love on Earth \u00b7 Dvo\u0159\u00e1k’s Seventh Symphony<\/strong><\/p>\n

When Dvo\u0159\u00e1k began work on his Seventh Symphony, he determined from the outset that this would be his grandest and most perfect symphony than any he had composed before, a work ‘capable of shaking the world’. His sketches show that he worked tirelessly\u00a0to do so. He believed that if he managed to conquer the audiences of Europe, the entire Czech nation, at that time in the midst of a social movement against the Austrian empire, would benefit.<\/p>\n

Love for his country pushed Dvo\u0159\u00e1k to write what many consider his best symphony.<\/p>\n
