Along with Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier, the 24 Preludes, Op. Chopin’s 28s are probably the most famous group of pieces conceived as an orderly journey through the 24 major and minor keys.<\/p>\n
Franz Liszt, praised the Preludes saying ‘they soothe the soul with golden dreams and raise it to ideal regions, admirable in their diversity [ ] they have the free and grand features which characterize the works of genius’.<\/p>\n
A ‘Prelude’, as its name suggests, is an open door to what is to come next. Each of Chopin’s Preludes are miniatures that inhabit a whole world of feelings, pure moods, from the most feverish energy of the first to the noble drama of the final piece.<\/p>\n
With each Prelude, Chopin seems to challenge the listener, asking him to complete the musical feelings evoked by the piano, and to risk an unreserved emotional journey; a life journey.<\/p>\n
Picking up the spirit of Chopin, Alice Sara Ott presents next December 1 at 8 pm, at the Palau de la M\u00fasica, a recital focusing on the 24 Preludes, op. 28 by Chopin. A concert where the art of his piano will merge, with video projections that will take us through virtual landscapes beyond music, to describe a unique life journey.<\/p>\n
