The opening concert of the season marked the beginning of a new chapter for our orchestra: the arrival of Maria Florea as the new concertmaster of the Franz Schubert Filharmonia.
Born in Esparreguera into a family of musicians and actresses, Maria Florea began playing the violin at the age of four. She studied at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid, the Royal Academy of Music in London, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, and the Musik-Akademie in Basel.
Her career has taken her to perform, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician, in some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls, to collaborate with renowned international artists, and to found the Trio Da Vinci and The Rest Project.
With her talent, artistic sensitivity, and energy, Maria Florea joins forces with Tomàs Grau and the rest of the musicians in this new phase of the Franz Schubert Filharmonia, which we are certain will become a unique musical experience for everyone.
Welcome, Maria!
