Oriana Kemelmajer Alías

Born in 2002 in Argentina, she began her career as a soloist at the age of twelve, later making her orchestral debut at fifteen, performing in her home country as well as in Ecuador, Italy, Switzerland, France, Andorra, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Spain. She studied with her mother and later with Stanislav Pochekin in Barcelona. She is currently pursuing her Konzertexamen studies with Gabriele Leporatti at the Anton Rubinstein Musikakademie Düsseldorf, supported by a scholarship from the Blatow Foundation.

She has received critical acclaim for her performances both as a soloist and with orchestra, including: “…The surprise of the evening was the soloist Oriana Kemelmajer Alías, who impressed with her mature musicality in Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 54. She has been awarded numerous national and international prizes, including: 1st Prize at the National Piano Competition Fundación Catedral de La Plata, Argentina (2014); 1st Prize at the International “Young Talents” Competition in Cuenca, Ecuador (2016); 1st Prize, Special Scholarship Prize, and Mozart Prize for best performance of a classical work at the “Rising Stars” Competition, Marbella, Spain (2019); 2nd Prize and Best Beethoven Performance Prize at the Villahermosa International Competition, Mexico (2020); 1st Prize at the National “Siete Lagos / Kaio Schommer Preis” Competition, Buenos Aires, Argentina (2020); “Revelation Award 2022” granted by the Argentine Association of Music Critics (2023); “Félix Hazen García” Prize 2024 from the Piano Chair at the “Música en Compostela” University and International Courses; 1st Prize at the 40th Performance Competition of the Sociedad de Conciertos de Alicante-Oftalvist; and 1st Prize at the 2025 “Piano Master” International Competition of the Rubinstein Academy in Düsseldorf, Germany. In chamber music, she has received: 1st Prize at the 18th “Higini Anglès” Chamber Music Competition 2024 (Reus, Tarragona); 1st Prize at the 25th Sant Joan de Vilatorrada Chamber Music Podiums 2024; 3rd Prize at the 7th Cambra Romànica International Competition 2025 (Andorra); and 2nd Prize at the Arnuero International Chamber Music Competition (CIMCA) 2025.

Her intense artistic activity includes solo and chamber music recitals with various ensembles, with which she regularly performs throughout Spain.
