Maxim Lando

American pianist Maxim Lando has been praised for his “brilliance and infectious exuberance” (The New York Times) and is considered one of the most outstanding young talents of his generation.

He gained international attention in 2017 when he performed at Carnegie Hall’s opening concert alongside Lang Lang and Chick Corea, with The Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Since then, he has collaborated with leading orchestras such as The Cleveland Orchestra, the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Toronto Symphony, the Israel Philharmonic and the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, among many others.

Recent highlights include a nine-city U.S. tour with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, as well as performances with the Belgrade Philharmonic, the Sofia Philharmonic and several American orchestras. He also presents recitals featuring works such as Frankenstein by Lowell Liebermann and records with the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna.

Winner of the 2025 Khaledi Prize, he has also received first prize at the New York Franz Liszt International Competition and the Vendome Grand Prize, as well as distinctions in international competitions in Cleveland and Germany. He was awarded the Gilmore Young Artist Award and won the Young Concert Artists auditions at just 16 years old.

He has performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing and the Alte Oper Frankfurt, and has appeared at festivals including Aspen, Dresden and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

A passionate chamber musician, he collaborates with artists such as Daniel Hope and has recorded the album Into Madness, which received an ICMA award. He is currently studying at The Juilliard School with Hung-Kuan Chen.
