Programme notes

A musical journey spanning the Baroque and the contemporary, led by one of today’s most outstanding violinists. In the dual role of soloist and conductor, Leticia Moreno invites audiences to discover a fascinating dialogue between two works written almost three centuries apart, yet inspired by the same timeless theme: the seasons of the year.

Antonio Vivaldi’s iconic The Four Seasons, one of the most beloved masterpieces in classical music, unfolds with its vivid imagery and dazzling virtuosity. In contrast—and at the same time in remarkable harmony—Philip Glass’s The American Four Seasons reimagines this universe through a minimalist, hypnotic and deeply evocative musical language, offering a contemporary reflection on the passage of time and the natural world.

A captivating programme that highlights the unexpected connection between two visionary composers while showcasing the artistry and expressive musicianship of Leticia Moreno together with the Franz Schubert Filharmonia.
