Diego Naser

Diego Naser is a versatile conductor who has led a wide range of ballet and opera productions, including The Rite of Spring, Carnival of the Animals, Peter and the Wolf, El Quijote del Plata, Carmina Burana and La Sylphide. He has also conducted the Spanish premiere—after more than 220 years—of F. Sor’s lost opera Telémaco nell’isola di Calipso, as well as Madama Butterfly. Alongside his work in the stage repertoire, he has conducted symphonic concerts across Europe and the Americas, including Mexico, Luxembourg, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Panama, Austria, Portugal, Peru, Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela and Spain.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with distinguished artists such as Pinchas Zukerman, Amanda Forsyth, Gustavo Núñez, Homero Francesch, Francesca Dego, Carlo Ventre and Michael Barenboim, among many others.

In the 2017–2018 season, he recorded a CD featuring new guitar works by Italian composer Simone Iannarelli, with guitarist Àlex Garrobé and the Murcia Symphony Orchestra.

Before dedicating himself fully to conducting, Naser pursued a successful career as an instrumentalist. He performed as a violist with the Kiel Philharmonic, the Hamburger Camerata and the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra Hamburg, and as a violinist with the Vienna Chamber Philharmonic and the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim. In this capacity, he appeared at major international festivals such as the Salzburg Festival, the Lucerne Festival, the Waldbühne Berlin and the BBC Proms in London.
