Music, Colours and Emotions with Yulianna Avdeeva and Gabriel Bebeselea

Thank you for joining us yesterday for the opening of the Franz Schubert Filharmonia 2026–27 Season at the Palau de la Música Catalana, where we enjoyed a concert full of contrasts, energy and emotion.

Yulianna Avdeeva captivated the audience with Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1, combining breathtaking virtuosity with an expressive delicacy that brought depth and meaning to every phrase. Her dialogue with the orchestra found in Gabriel Bebeselea an attentive musical partner, capable of shaping a clear and coherent musical narrative.

In the second half, Don Juan and Till Eulenspiegels lustige Streiche by Richard Strauss unveiled a fascinating sound world. The orchestra brought out the colours and textures of the score, from the most delicate pianissimos to the dramatic interventions of the winds and percussion, with a richness of timbre that sustained the musical tension throughout.
