Last Tuesday, the Franz Schubert Filharmonia closed its Season at the Palau de la Música Catalana with a memorable evening.
The concert began with the premiere in Barcelona of the work Reminiscències de Llum by the composer Arnau Bataller. This piece, rich in ethereal harmonies and poetic passages, created cinematic atmospheres that were led by the orchestra's strings, with a deep and evocative character.
Violinist Sayaka Shoji then took the lead of the orchestra to perform Max Richter's Four Seasons. Shoji drew a great emotional journey throughout the piece, soaked in a sincere and stimulating dialogue with the musicians of the orchestra. From his Stradivarius, Shoji extracted a performance of great beauty and technical precision, combining vibrant energy and elegant lyricism. His dazzling tone and delicate phrasing captivated us, making us experience Richter's work with an emotional intensity that can only be experienced live.
We want to thank you for your trust in the artistic project of the Franz Schubert Filharmonia, an orchestra created by musicians at the service of music. We invite you to join us next season where we can continue to fascinate you live with the great musical repertoire.
The encores that were performed were:
Jules Massenet - Meditation of Thaïs (Sayaka Shoji & Esther Pinyol)
Max Richter: Spring 1
