Lyricism and nobility

In the first concert of 2024 by the Franz Schubert Filharmonia at the Palau de la Música Catalana, the orchestra yesterday presented Beethoven's Triple Concerto and Brahms' Fourth Symphony under the baton of maestro Salvador Mas, who with all his mastery, he accompanied with rigor and knowledge the components of the Ludwig Trio: Abel Tomàs, violin, Arnau Tomàs, cello, and Hyo-Sun Lim, piano, in the first part, and offered a musical lesson in the second.

The three components of Trio Ludwig faced with determination their interpretation of the Triple Concerto, both beautiful and difficult in its rich instrumental combinations. Arnau Tomàs offered us a round and full sound; his brother Abel Tomàs the elegance of sound and the pianist Hyo-Sun Lim the grace and finesse in her phrasing.

In the second part, maestro Salvador Mas at the head of the Franz Schubert Filharmonia gave us his reading of Brahms' Fourth Symphony. A symphony built on a robust and deep spirit, with rich sonorities of strings and woodwinds, as well as a grandiose and noble feeling in the brass that culminated in a striking Finale.​
