Notes of the concert | Night of celebration with the Càrmina Choir

Last May 21 at the Palau de la Música Catalana, the Franz Schubert Filhamonia and the Càrmina Choir offered a concert full of celebrations.

First, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Càrmina Choir. Under the baton of its conductor Daniel Mestre, the orchestra, soloists and choir performed the Symphony no. 2 ‘Lobgesang’ by Mendelssohn, a majestic work, full of emotion and impact that the choir sang with enthusiasm, offering moments of great delicacy and intensity.

We also celebrated that we are a country of great musicians. So, in the first part, we had the privilege of hearing the world premiere of two works by Bernat Vivancos. Two works of delicate harmonies and ethereal melodies.

Finally, we celebrated the closing of the 2022-23 Season of the Franz Schubert Filharmonia at the Palau de la Música Catalana. A season where we have experienced great concerts and wonderful moments.

From the orchestra we want to thank our audience for their support and passion during this season that we closed yesterday. We look forward to the next Season 2023-24 as always, with passion and love for music!
