Pure music with Elisabeth Leonskaja

For second time, Elisabeth Leonskaja returned to the Franz Schubert Filharmonia season at the Palau de la Música Catalana to offer, this time, an extraordinary recital that will remain etched in the memory.

The pianist began with Mozart's Sonata No. 18, performed with the naturalness, clarity and extreme delicacy that characterizes her.

Leonskaja then approached Beethoven's Sonata No. 32 with absolute interpretative wisdom, characterized by a masterful control of intensity, tempo and use of the pedal. The famous Arietta with variations unfolded with captivating delicacy, avoiding all showiness and focusing on subtle dynamics and natural, fully narrative phrasing.

In the second half, Leonskaja showed all her mastery without filter with Schubert's Sonata in B flat major D960. The pianist offered a radical, stripped-down and profound interpretation, constructing a melancholic monument full of moments of great emotion that culminated in a ritual of pure music.
