Concert notes

The music is back

In front of a fully packed Palau de la Música, the Franz Schubert Filharmonia inaugurated its 12th Season of concerts.

The evening began with the touch of flabiol and tambourine of the sardana 'Sant Martí del Canigó' by Pau Casals, an emotional and powerful piece that took off through the modernist hall.

Next, the guitarist Miloš demonstrated his virtuosity and delicate fingering in El Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquín Rodrigo. Miloš, who made his debut at the Palau yesterday, told us at the end of the concert: 'It has been one of the most emotional and exciting experiences of my career. Playing the Aranjuez Concert at the Palau and in front of such a dedicated audience has been wonderful'

In the second part, maestro Tomàs Grau and the orchestra offered us a reading of Dvorák's New World Symphony full of nuances and colors. The emotions of this masterpiece traveled through the different voices and sections of the orchestra; from the soft textures of strings and woodwinds, to the fiery crescendos of the brass section.
