Thanks to the Franz Schubert Filharmonia, violinist Soyoung Yoon and conductor Krszysztof Urbański, two of the most charismatic artists of the moment, made their debut at the Palau de la Música Catalana.
Exceptionally talented, Soyoung Yoon performed the Sibelius Violin Concerto showing absolute control of the instrument and a deep knowledge of this concerto. Yoon offered a passionate, virtuoso and highly expressive interpretation of a work that is very demanding for any artist.
In the second half, Krszysztof Urbański took the podium to conduct Symphony no. 4 by Tchaikovsky. The maestro offered a reading rich in dynamics and great sensitivity. The orchestra responded with delicate pianissimos and a kaleidoscope of colors where the voices of the different sections dialogued in harmony underlining the depth and beauty of the symphony. The emotionally charged Finale completed a wonderful night of music.
