Homage to Pau Casals on his 140th birth anniversary

Pau Casals was, still is, and will continue to be a cultural referent and an example of social and political commitment, besides being a source of inspiration for present and future generations of artists. From Orquestra Camera Musicae we want to remember the man and highlight his ties with the town of el Vendrell, where his work and memory are still alive, thanks to the Vil·la Museum Pau Casals. The residency for our artists also takes place at the Music School of El Vendrell.

In light of the 140th birth anniversary of Casals -29 December 2016- OCM will be led by their current resident artist, violoncellist Lluís Claret with an uncommon format (octet of violoncellos). Pau Casals himself sponsored Claret, and Enric Casals was his mentor.
