J. Williams: Star Wars, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, E.T., Jurassic Park and Schindler’s List, among others.
Franz Schubert Filharmonia
Tomàs Grau, conductor
With a great career and successes such as Star Wars, E.T., Harry Potter, Jurassic Park or Schindler’s List, the music of John Williams has accompanied us for generations.
Williams is one of the most recognized composers of Soundtracks on the current scene and winner of the most prestigious film awards. His melodies transcend the screen and are enjoyed on their own. In this special concert we offer you a selection of the best soundtracks without any visual distraction.
In 1975 John Williams won the Oscar for Jaws, in 1977 for Star Wars and everyone expected him to win in 1978 for Superman, but it wasn’t like that. He wouldn’t win it again until ’82 with ET and he still got one more in ’93 with Schindler’s List. Williams is a living legend: he just turned 90 years old and the unmistakable sound of his music continues to accompany us when we vibrate with the adventures of Indiana Jones, when we escape from Jurassic Park, when we are enchanted by Harry Potter or when we do not give up searching Private Ryan. All these characters are indebted to John Williams, the author of the best film music of the last 50 years.
Close your eyes and may the force be with you!
