Programme notes

The Emotion of Baroque Music

We revisit one of the most fascinating and celebrated works in the history of music: Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. Maria Florea, concertmaster of the Franz Schubert Filharmonia, will offer a vibrant and bold interpretation, leading from the violin and the podium, highlighting the descriptive character and melodic imagination of this visionary music.

The programme will be complemented by two concertos by Bach — the Concerto for Two Violins and the Concerto for Violin and Oboe — performed by Maria Florea together with Miguel Ángel Castillo and Pau Roca, as well as Vivaldi’s Flute Concerto La notte, an evocative and captivating work featuring flautist Ana Ferraz. All of them are soloists of the Franz Schubert Filharmonia.
