Yesterday we met at the Palau de la Música Catalana, to celebrate two masterpieces of the musical repertoire.
In the first part, violinist Midori, in her second collaboration with the Franz Schubert Filharmonia, fascinated us with a highly virtuosic, vibrant and seductive performance of Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto. His technique, of great expressiveness and emotionality, stopped time in a Palau full to overflowing.
In the second part, Tomàs Grau, with a precise and energetic direction, and the musicians of the Franz Schubert Filharmonia, interpreted Brahms's Third Symphony, a symphony of great richness, emotion, full of nuances and textures that rounded off a great night
The encores that were performed were:
Midori
Bach: Chacona from Partita no. 2, BWV 1004
Franz Schubert Filharmonia
Dvořák: Slavic Dance no. 1, Op. 46
