Spirit and Memory with Laurence Equilbey

The Franz Schubert Filharmonia, under the batoon of Laurence Equilbey, made us discover the music of Louise Farrenc. Born in 1804, a few years before Schumann and Mendelssohn, Farrenc fully belongs to the universe of early romanticism, but with a distinctive mark that makes her unique. Equilbey and the orchestra reinforced the vital and dynamic reading of Farrenc's first symphony, with a firm commitment to bringing the music of this great composer closer to the public.

In the second part, and to commemorate the centenary of the composer's death, the performers performed Fauré's Requiem, one of the most striking works in the repertoire.

The Palau Chamber Choir stood out for its admirable precision and taste.The singers achieved delicate harmony in the Offertoire and the sopranos shone exquisitely in both In Paradisum and Agnus Dei.

For his part, the baritone José Antonio López sang with great expressiveness and emotional neatness the Libera Me and Núria Rial brought a moving delicacy to the Pie Jesu.

A night of live music in which the Franz Schubert Filharmonia and all the performers dedicated the concert to the people of the Valencian Country.
