Music and delivery with Ermonela Jaho, Tomàs Grau and Albert Guinovart

Last monday, Ermonela Jaho moved in her debut with the Franz Schubert Filharmonia at the Palau de la Música Catalana. The soprano dazzled us with her perfect technique, the beauty of a privileged voice, intelligent and with a vital truthfulness that is perceived in every note. Tomàs Grau and the Franz Schubert Filharmonia infused Puccini's scores with emotion and together we were moved by the innocence, dreams and tragedies of the great heroines of Lucca's genius.

In the second half, we premiered Albert Guinovart's first symphony, the Simfonia dels Àngels, commissioned by the Franz Schubert Filharmonia for this concert. Guinovart's Symphony exploded the Palau in an endless play of wonderful orchestral textures and colors. The work is an emotional journey that, again, with the voice of Ermonela Jaho and the wise direction of Tomàs Grau, achieved great success.

Guinovart is an artist strongly linked to the history of our orchestra. He was our first artist-in-residence and we have commissioned and premiered several works from him over the years: works for choir and orchestra, scores for soloists and orchestra as well as the opera Alba Eternal.

From the Franz Schubert Filharmonia we feel a great privilege to contribute to expanding the heritage of the Catalan symphonic corpus and we are honored to share these works with our audience.
