A very special night with Christoph Eschenbach

Last Tuesday we had the privilege of experiencing a very special night. Sharing music and the stage with maestro Christoph Eschenbach is one of the milestones that makes us feel great pride as an orchestra.

Eschenbach, has captivated us with his musical wisdom and deep humanity. In addition to being one of the most important musical figures of his generation around the world, Eschenbach is a link that connects us to the great tradition of conductors such as Karajan (who boosted his career), Bruno Walter or Otto Klemperer.

The concert began with the world premiere of the Concerto no. 2 for flute by Michael Fine. A work of reminiscences indebted to Debussy that allowed us to see the versatility of the flutist Stathis Karapanos.
Then, the same Karapanos and José Domené enchanted with Mozart's Concerto for Flute and Harp. A work of refined textures and melodies.

In the second part, maestro Eschenbach unreservedly poured all his mastery on the podium in perfect balance of confidence and freedom with the musicians of the Franz Schubert Philharmonic. Thus we got a Beethoven full of colors and dynamics that stopped time and made us vibrate in the final Allegro con brio.
