The Perelada Festival presents a concert devoted to the sacred music of Mozart and Schubert, two composers united by their search for beauty and emotion. The Franz Schubert Philharmonia, conducted by Guillermo García Calvo, and featuring Yewon Han (soprano), Marcela Rahal (mezzo), Filipe Manu (tenor) and Manuel Fuentes (bass), together with the Francesc Valls Choir, will perform Mozart’s Ave verum corpus and Missa brevis in G major, KV 49, alongside Schubert’s Mass in G major, D 167.
Mozart composed his Missa brevis at just 12 years old, revealing an early mastery of counterpoint and a clear, liturgical style. The motet Ave verum corpus, written near the end of his life, distills a deeply intimate and universal spirituality.
At 18, Schubert revisits the short-mass model in his Mass in G major, D 167, blending contrapuntal sobriety with a pastoral lyricism that anticipates Romantic sensibility. An Easter Sunday matinée that invites the audience to experience the spiritual depth and beauty of Austrian sacred music.
